The winter months can sometimes lead to a bit of cabin fever, especially when the weather’s too cold to really enjoy a good hike or other outdoor activity. A new venue in Rogers promises a ton of family fun, though. After hearing about it from friends, we loaded up the kids and headed to HighRise Extreme Air Sports for a night of family fun
It’s a new year, a fresh start. All around, friends and family are making plans and setting goals for the year ahead. 2015 brings with it a sense of renewal and exciting adventures ahead. Of course, the New Year also ushers in a plethora of new venues to get acquainted with in Rogers. Our family’s taken time to visit a couple, but we look forward to visiting even more in the coming year.

Life is so busy, isn’t it? During the holiday season, it seems it’s even busier than usual. What with holiday parties, baking, Christmas shopping, and more added to already busy every day activities…things can get a little crazy.

Like other families in the Rogers area, you’re probably ready to put up your Christmas tree, if you haven’t already done so! ‘Tis the season for ornaments, tinsel, garland, gorgeous wreaths, and the smell of a real tree to cozy up your home.
What better way to ring in the holidays than with a “Holidays Around the World” themed Christmas parade? Every year since I was a kid, I’ve watched the Thanksgiving Day parade on television; I especially loved seeing all the floats and giant balloons. While I still enjoy a parade, it’s even better because I get to watch the wonder in my kids’ eyes as they enjoy everything there is to see.
The Christmas season is here! That wonderful, magical time of the year. We love attending a good play or show. Over the years we’ve seen plays like It’s a Wonderful Life, Mary Poppins, and Seussical the Musical. We’ve had some great times in the theater.
Every year decorations appear out of nowhere, lights begin to twinkle, and Christmas trees sparkle in all their festive glory. Traditions are a huge part of Christmas for my family. Some of our traditions involve making our family recipe for cutout sugar cookies, putting up the tree and sharing memories with each ornament that goes on the tree, putting our jammies on and watching a great Christmas movie (like Christmas Vacation), and more. We have one really special tradition as the days draw closer to Christmas. It involves a warm cup of hot chocolate and sparkling, glittering lights.
It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that I’m a little obsessed with all things vintage. It’s true. Show me an antique store, and if given the time, I’ll likely spend hours browsing the booths, finding treasures. One year my family even decided to shop only vintage for our holiday gifts. That was such an amazing Christmas.
Halloween is almost here; can you believe it? This year I can safely say that I’m at least trying to prep earlier than the day before or the day of. Costumes are in the making, pumpkins are ready for carving, and now we just need candy for the occasional trick-or-treater. Of course, we have to get our fun on, as well! Halloween is such a fun time of year with pumpkin patches, corn mazes to explore, and more.
October 16th-19th marks a much-anticipated annual event at War Eagle Mill, just outside Rogers. War Eagle Fair has been a fall event since 1954. Bringing in both vendors and visitors from all across the U.S., it’s literally the mother of all craft shows. Along with the War Eagle Fair, War Eagle Mill also hosts the Sharp Show and the War Eagle Mill Crafts Fair…three events in one!
